DALLAS, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Northeastern Pennsylvania businesses are cashing in on this busy shopping weekend.

The craft store, Back Mountain Makery, hosted its Second Annual Small Business Weekend.

Six local vendors set up shop inside, offering candles, jewelry, and holiday treats.

Shoppers also enjoyed hot cocoa and coffee from Cozy Cocoa.

The Makery features products from 85 local artists all year.

This event gave small businesses a chance to connect with the community.

"I think that's what makes a community really interesting because you get so many different people's creativity, and their own life experiences, and I think that's what makes it a special gift, even for yourself, but it makes you excited to be able to give that gift cause, you know, a lot of care was put into it," said Magnolia Rose Candles Owner Suzanne Mattern.

Organizers say this event is part of Back Mountain Makery's mission to support small businesses and local artists all year round.
