Two correctional officers charged with facilitating assault at SCI Dallas

DALLAS, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Two correctional offices are being charged after state police say they facilitated an 'inmate-on-inmate' assault at SCI Dallas.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, in July 2024 an "inmate-on-inmate" assault happened at the State Correctional Institute located in Dallas.

Police say two current inmates at SCI-Dallas, Michael Willis, 41, and Christopher Martin Scheller, 29, were charged with violently assaulting a 46-year-old inmate.

After an investigation was conducted troopers learned two correctional officers facilitated the assault.

The Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office approved the following charges against Joseph John Tilletski, 39, of Plymouth, and Khalil Jahmal Lewis, 29, of Luzerne:

Conspiracy / Aggravated Assault

Conspiracy / Assault by Prisoner

Conspiracy / Simple Assault

Tamper with/Fabricate Physical Evidence

The victim suffered severe head injuries, a broken rib, and a punctured lung.

Tilletski and Lewis were arrested and bail was set at $25,000.
