Carbon County man dead after Lehigh County shooting

WHITEHALL TOWNSHIP, LEHIGH COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A Carbon County man is dead after a Saturday evening shooting.

Officials say the incident occurred just after 6:00 p.m. in a parking lot on the 1100 block of MacArthur Road in Whitehall Township.

According to a release by the Lehigh County Coroner, a 46-year-old Palmerton man was pronounced dead at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Cedar Crest after suffering multiple gunshot wounds.

The manner of death has been ruled a Homicide, according to the release.

Monroe County homicide suspect extradited from Utah

An investigation is ongoing with the Whitehall Township Police Department, the Lehigh County Homicide Task Force, and the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office.

The identity of the male will not be released until the autopsy is completed on Monday December 9 and the family is notified.
