HAZLE TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A group of students is learning the value of giving back. Hazleton Area High School Girls Basketball Team members traded their court time for kitchen duty Sunday morning.
Roughly 200 neighbors gathered at Maple Manor Elementary for the Annual Free Breakfast for Seniors.
Spreading holiday cheer with ‘Shop with a Cop’ event in Hazle Township
Eggs, bacon, french toast, and more were served while the school chorus performed holiday songs.
"I think the students should just be involved in everything that a community could offer. They give so much to us, so we can only help as much as we can," said volunteer and high school senior Olivia Williams.
The yearly tradition put on by the Hazleton Area School District and the Nutrition Group brings generations together over a warm meal.
