SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Wednesday marks day two of the trial for the suspect accused of shooting a 27-year-old man in Scranton.
31-year-old Travis Anthony Lanzo's trial began December 10 for the shooting and killing of 27-year-old David Deshler.
According to the Scranton Police Department, Lanzo shot Deshler on March 12 near Schultz Court and Mulberry Street in the Hill Section.
Two charged after undercover drug sting in Scranton
Lanzo was among three others charged in the death of Deshler, David Gaskins, 35, Jonathan Lance Smith, 32, and Noah Diemetri Ortiz, 24 were arrested for their alleged involvement in the shooting.
Court documents state in January of 2023 Lanzo shot a gun into a house and then in March shot and killed Deshler.
For the shooting in January Lanzo was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, and discharging a firearm into an occupied residence, followed by criminal homicide charges for the shooting that killed Deshler.
