MAHANOY TWP., SCHUYLKILL COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — County officials report a subsidence had swallowed an in-ground swimming pool in Schuylkill County Monday.
On December 16, around 2:00 a.m., the Schuylkill County Office of Emergency Management was told of a subsidence that opened up in the backyard of a home on Park Place Road in Mahanoy Township.
On the scene, crews say where an in-ground pool was located in the backyard, a 50 ft by 70 ft subsidence opened, swallowing up the pool.
12-year-old dies after crash, two taken to hospital
Mahanoy Fire Department determined there was no impact on the home or utilities.
Officials say this is the second subsidence incident that happened at this location.
