SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — People are continuing to call to remove President Joe Biden's name from highway signs in Scranton.
This comes after the president granted clemency to Michael Conahan who was involved in the Kids for Cash scheme.
Conahan and Judge Mark Ciavarella were sent to prison for the scheme where they accepted millions of dollars in kickbacks to send kids to detention centers.

Scranton Mayor Paige Cognetti reacted on Friday to the controversy of changing the signs.
"We will continue to appreciate President Biden's legacy of public service, and while the commutation is unfortunate and certainly a mistake, it does not erase President Biden's contribution to his country, or to this area. So again, I think these are two separate issues, and those calls on the street and the expressway are not new," Mayor Cognetti explained.
Cognetti says this has been a controversy since 2021.
