NOYES TOWNSHIP, CLINTON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A suspect has been identified after a dog went missing earlier this week and it never returned in Clinton County.
Pennsylvania State Police responded on Monday at 3:15 p.m. to Clendenon Street in Clinton County for an animal cruelty complaint.
The 11-year-old yellow Labrador Retriever was found with a gunshot would to its neck.
According to a Pennsylvania State Police release, a 33-year-old man from Westport, PA has been identified after allegedly shooting an 11-year-old yellow Labrador Retriever.
The dog was let out at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Monday December 16 and never returned.
Officials say a search led to a neighboring property where blood, dog hair, and "other biological matter" was discovered that belonged to the dog.
Troopers then used several search warrants to look at the Clendenon Street property and another in Dauphin County where the dog was found with a gunshot wound to its neck deceased almost 150 miles away from the original location.
The investigation is ongoing.
