'Saint Nick’s Display’ open for community to enjoy

WAYMART, WAYNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Negative-degree weather Monday morning doesn’t stop the lights from being on at ‘Saint Nick’s display’ in Waymart.

“Honestly, the last five years though have been insane.”

Nicholas Antidormi, known widely as Saint Nick, puts on this outrageous display every year.

“I love everything about Christmas.”

His love for the holiday started at birth, as he was born on Christmas.. But it grew as he got older.

“High school, when I started getting a side job, I just went and bought anything I could.”

His display on Cemetery Road contains more than 2500 pieces. With some that extend up to 16 feet.

“I will scroll on the marketplace and everywhere else at two in the morning. People will be like, ‘why’re up?’ I’m like, ‘I got to find this cool, vintage thing.’”

Pieces like a merry-go-round which dates back to 50 years ago. But any extra elbow grease goes into restoring vintage pieces.

“This is pretty much after work every day I’m here and constantly working on stuff. Stripping things, sanding things, bond-o, glitter, glue, everything.”

Saint Nick says seeing the joy from the families who visit his home is what gives him purpose throughout the year, but he always thanks the one person who was there when it all started.

“Aunt Sandy was my rock and I wish that she was still here, but I love doing this and I hope that she’s looking down on me and smiling.”

Saint Nick’s display is free to the public and will be open from five to 10 p.m. through Christmas day in Waymart, weather permitting.
