PennDOT reduced speed limits for Christmas Eve snow

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — PennDOT announced speed limit and lane restrictions early Christmas Eve morning due to the winter weather conditions. These restrictions have been lifted and are no longer in effect.

The following roads had their speed limit reduced to 45 mph and commercial vehicles restricted to the right lane only:

Interstate 80 in Luzerne County.

Interstate 81 from Schuylkill County to the New York state line in Lackawanna, Luzerne, and Susquehanna Counties.

Interstate 84 in Lackawanna, Pike, and Wayne Counties.

Interstate 380 in Lackawanna and Wayne Counties.

This comes with the National Weather Service putting out moderate winter weather advisories for Northern Wayne and Susquehanna Counties. Along with slippery travel conditions possible for Lackawanna, Luzerne, Pike, Southern Wayne, and Wyoming Counties.
