PennDOT announces speed restrictions in central Pa.

(WBRE/WYOU) — PennDOT has announced temporary speed restrictions on certain roadways due to the severity of Monday's winter storm.

Snow moving into NEPA Monday morning

The following roads have been restricted to 45 mph speed limits:

Interstate 80 between mile marker 194 (Clinton/Union County line) to mile marker 247 (Columbia/Luzerne County line)

Interstate 180 - the entire length

PennDOT is advising trucks to avoid Route 54 between Route 487 in Ralpho Township and Route 61 in Mount Carmel Township. PennDOT says trucks should use Route 61 and Route 487 in Northumberland County.
