HONESDALE, WAYNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Authorities say a Honesdale man will serve time in prison after assaulting a police officer.
The Wayne County Court House announced in a release that Honesdale man Andrew Devlin was sentenced to 27 to 72 months in a State Correctional Facility for the following counts:
One count of Aggravated Assault
One count of Disorderly Conduct
One count of Criminal Mischief
Four counts of Simple Assault
Officials explained the incident happened on May 2, 2024, when Devlin became combative at the Twisted Rail in Honesdale, Wyoming County.
Authorities went on to say that Devlin slapped, kicked, and spit on others and kicked a Honesdale Police Officer in the face.
Person of interest sought amid arson investigation
Later in the year on June 5, Wayne County officials say Devlin encountered two correctional officers walking on Main Street in Honesdale where he then made threats to them before he and the victims separated.
The following day on June 6, Devlin reportedly chased after a person through a Turkey Hill parking lot with a machete and made threats, authorities said in the release.
