Over 100 UFOs reported being seen in Pennsylvania last year

(WTAJ) -- More than 100 Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) were reported being seen in Pennsylvania in 2024, according to the National UFO Reporting Center.

The center's website allows people to report objects and lights seen in the sky in hopes someone can answer their questions and possibly identify what they saw.

Some possible identifications include drones, satellites and even Chinese lanterns being released nearby (click here to see video from Montgomery County).

Pennsylvania at-home healthcare companies get sold off

In total, 125 UFO sightings in Pennsylvania were reported on the center's website. As of this writing, only 46 of them have possible identification attached to them from the center.

While some may be a hoax, i.e. a Centre County person claiming they were talking to the aliens through their thoughts, many reports come with photos or videos of what was seen. A majority of reports come from Eastern or Western Pa with limited sightings in Central Pennsylvania.

The National UFO Reporting Center was founded in 1974 and claims more than 180,000 reports have been processed over the last 50 years. The center is a nonprofit Washington State corporation, its website shows.
