ASHLEY, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Pennsylvania American Water is working to replace more than five-thousand feet of pipe in Ashley.
They started last week by improving reliability for customers, reducing service disruptions, and increase water flow for firefighting.
The project involves installing new, eight-inch ductile iron pipe.
Downtown on Ice boosting economy
Crews will work Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at five locations.
The project also includes connecting all customer service lines to the new mains, along with final restoration and paving.
The company expects to finish the work sometime this summer.
