DICKSON CITY, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The fire department saved a person in an embankment suffering from hypothermia near Sheetz in Dickson City.
Dickson City Fire Department stated on Sunday around 11:00 p.m. , during the cold temperatures and snow, crews rescued an injured person from a wooded embankment on the Scranton/Carbondale Highway.
The department said a snowplow driver was working in the area when they heard the cries for help coming from the steep embankment behind Burlington.

Firefighters say they lowered rescuers around 75 feet using a rope system, to get to the victim and then set up a haul system to bring them up the embankment.
It's not clear how the victim ended up on the embankment but officials believed the victim was there for a few hours and began suffering hypothermia.
The victim's current condition is unknown at this time.
