(WBRE/WYOU) — Four NFL teams are fighting to win this Sunday in the AFC and NFC championship games. Each team has at least one native from northeastern or central Pennsylvania representing their organization and trying to reach that championship win.
Brett Veach - Kanas City Chiefs
Brett Veach is a Mount Carmel High School graduate and enters his eighth season as the Kanas City Chiefs General Manager. Veach was a running back for the Mount Carmel High School football team. He worked with the Philadelphia Eagles at the front office with Coach Andy Reid then followed Reid to Kansas City. Veach was named the seventh general manager in Kansas City Chiefs' history in July 2017.
Vic Fangio - Philadelphia Eagles
Vic Fangio is a Dunmore native and in 2024 he was named the defensive coordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles and Head Coach of the Denver Broncos. Fangio was a safety on the Dunmore High School football team in 1975 and took several coaching classes at East Stroudsburg University. Fangio brought 25 years of experience as a coordinator to the Eagles and they believe he is "one of the most respected defensive minds in football."
Connor McGovern - Buffalo Bills
Connor McGovern is a Lake-Lehman High School graduate, who played on the offensive and defensive line for the football team. McGovern accepted a football scholarship to Penn State University and then was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys. McGovern is now a starting center for the Buffalo Bills.
John Glenn - Washington Commanders

John Glenn is a graduate of Lackawanna Trail High School near Factoryville. He was a quarterback and a linebacker for the team in 1999. Glenn went on to play football at East Stroudsburg University. Glenn was a linebacker coach for the Seattle Seahawks until joining the Commanders as a special teams coach.
The matchups will be held this weekend with the AFC Championship game (Chiefs/Bills) on Sunday, January 26, on CBS at 6:30 p.m. and the NFC Championship game (Eagles/Commanders) will be broadcast on FOX at 3:00 p.m.
