Man identified after bank robbery in Luzerne County

KINGSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— One man has been arrested after a bank robbery Friday afternoon in Kingston.

According to Chief Richard Kotchik, of the Kingston Police Department, police were called to M&T Bank, 800 Wyoming Avenue, just after 2:30 p.m. for a reported bank robbery.

Kingston Police Department states that 30-year-old Kenneth Besecker, of Hunlock Creek, passed the teller a note saying they had a gun and demanded money.

Upon arrival officials determined that Besecker fled by foot with an unknown amount of money.

With assistance for the Pennsylvania State Police, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Besecker was arrested two hours later near his home.

Besecker was then transported to the Kingston Municipal Police Department for processing, and is scheduled to be transferred to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility, according to the release.
