Residents cleaning their cars after warmer weather in Wilkes-Barre

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— A lot of us are taking advantage of the warmer temperatures and sunshine today to clean off their cars.

The salt from road crews tends to build up on the outside, and there's nothing like a good car wash to get rid of it.

We stopped by McCarthy Car Wash on Kidder street in Wilkes-Barre Friday, and found a lot of people who had the same idea.

"Your car is your second biggest investment next to your house, and it's really important to get the salt off. In our wash tunnel, we have two areas that shoots the undercarriage of your car to get the salt off. So it really is a thorough cleaning of the car from top to bottom," explained Ron McHale, Manager, McCarthy Tire.

The car wash was closed earlier this week in order to protect employees from the wet conditions of the job in the frigid temperatures.
