UGI files request to raise gas prices nearly 11%

(WBRE/WYOU) — UGI Utilities Gas Division has filed a request with the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission to increase its base rates by $110.4 million annually.

UGI says they are requesting to increase the base rates for residential, commercial, and industrial customers to recover costs related to system improvements and operations necessary to maintain safe and reliable natural gas service.

If the request is approved, residential customers will see about an 11% increase in their monthly bill.

"If the company’s entire request is approved, the total bill for a residential heating customer using 73.7 ccf per month would increase from $104.47 to $115.74 per month or by 10.8%."UGI Utlilties, Inc.

UGI is requesting the new gas rates take effect on March 28, 2025.
