(WBRE/WYOU) — A man wanted on arson charges in Schuylkill County allegedly fought police with a pick axe to avoid being arrested in New Jersey.
On January 27 a task force tracked Tyrie Dunn to New Jersey, a wanted fugitive for allegedly destroying two homes with Molotov cocktails in Pottsvile.
Investigators said they found Dunn in a home in Lodi, NJ and surveillance was set up. Dunn eventually attempted to flee the area and while doing so he hit an FBI vehicle which caused the door to strike an FBI agent and pin him between the door and door opening, police reported.

Police stated Dunn tried to flee the area again then crashed into a fence causing him to get out of the car and run on foot. Dunn was shortly found in a storage shed and he began to swing a pick axe at officers hitting one in the back, as stated in the release.
Dunn was taken back to Pennsylvania and arraigned on his original charges. He remains in the Schuylkill County Prison on a $500,000 straight cash bail.
