SMITHFIELD TWP., MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police report they have arrested a former nurse practitioner who allegedly raped and sexually assaulted a patient several times while at a medical facility.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, in August 2024 investigators received information that a victim was raped and sexually assaulted several times while at Lehigh Valley Physician's Group Endocrinology in Smithfield Township.

On January 27 state police arrested the suspect, Timothy Jerum Clark, 53, of Scranton, who was a nurse practitioner at Lehigh Valley Physician's Group Endocrinology, as stated in the affidavit.
Court documents reported that the victim was sexually assaulted on three occasions starting in 2021 through 2022. During one of the assaults, the victim accused Clark of rape while they were at the facility receiving an exam.
Richard Martuscelli, a spokesperson with Lehigh Valley Health Network, stated the following to 28/22 News in regards to Clark's investigation;
At Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN), our priority is the care and safety of our patients. LVHN was recently made aware of the concern and, in response, conducted an internal investigation and alerted law enforcement. This individual has not been employed by LVHN since 2022.

Clark faces the charges of rape and other sexual assault-related offenses.
