WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Williamsport Area School District (WASD) is gaining a new layer of security with an advanced AI-based gun detection system.
ZeroEyes is an AI-driven gun detection video analytics platform that provides real-time threat detection and response.
WASD says ZeroEyes will integrate seamlessly with their existing security infrastructure.
“The addition of ZeroEyes’ advanced technology provides us with an additional level of preparedness and security and will allow us to respond swiftly and effectively to potential threats,” said Superintendent Dr. Timothy S. Bowers. “This addition reinforces our commitment to continue investing our resources to create an even safer and more secure learning environment for our students and staff."
ZeroEyes' AI gun detection and intelligent situational awareness software layers on top of WASD's existing digital security camera system.
If a gun is identified, images are shared with the ZeroEyes Operation Center, staffed 24/7 by military and law enforcement veterans. Those experts will then determine if the threat is valid and dispatch alerts to first responders.
“It’s always inspiring to see communities and school districts in our backyard sodedicated to the mission of saving lives,” said Mike Lahiff, CEO and co-founder of ZeroEyes.“The Williamsport Area School District’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding its studentsand staff is truly meritorious.”
