Driver killed, passenger sent to hospital after crash

PLUNKETTS CREEK TWP., LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police report a driver has died and a passenger is in the hospital after their vehicle crashed into a tree.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, on January 22 around 12:50 a.m., a crash happened on State Route 87 in Plunketts Creek Township.

Juvenile driver charged after hit and run

Police said a car was traveling on SR87 when it hit a curb and lost control exiting the roadway. After leaving the roadway the vehicle hit a tree, killing the driver, 21-year-old Jake Wallace of Montoursville.

The passenger, a 23-year-old woman from Montorusville, was taken to UPMC Williamsport for suspected serious injuries and then transported to Geisinger Danville. Her current condition is unknown.
