Brew pub hosts benefit raising money for Little League concession stand

HANOVER TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A summer sport is what's on the minds of organizers of a fundraiser at a brew pub near Wilkes-Barre.

Benny Brewing Company hosted a benefit on Saturday featuring a buffet and live entertainment.

Funds will be used to renovate the concession stand at Hanover Township Little League Field and provide critical upgrades and repairs.

The group Little League Legends which is part of Leadership Northeast Core Class of 2025 sponsored this fundraiser.

"The entire team was just so excited about this project. Little League is a great opportunity for kids to get out of the house, be active, get away from just their cell phones and everything. We just think it's a wonderful activity," said Organizer and Member of Leadership Northeast Core Class of 2025 Mary Ellen McLean.

"It's just crazy. They just raise money and stuff and all that," Hanover Township Little League Baseball Player Connor Cunningham explained.

Organizers hoped to raise $5,000 and have the Hanover Township Little League Concession Stand ready for the start of the season in April.
