Hockey teams hit the ice at Wally Ice Fest

NEWFOUNDLAND, WAYNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — If pond hockey is your thing, then look no further than the Wally Ice Fest in Wayne County.

Dozens of hockey teams from near and far are taking to the ice this weekend at Kresswood Lake for the Pocono Pond Hockey Tournament.

While hockey is the featured event at this winter festival, many other people come for live entertainment, food, and games both on and off the ice.

"Every year it's gotten bigger and better. They put on a great time for everyone. They've got the vendors so it's fun for everyone," said Baltimore Hockey Player Shawn Ketterer.

"Come on out. Have fun. Listen to some bands. Dress warmly, but you'll have a good time. Good food, good music, good people, good hockey. What could be better?" volunteer and event organizer's wife Cathy Becker explained.

The Wally Ice Fest continues again on Sunday in the Poconos.
