Jury pauses deliberations in art theft ring trial

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A jury has paused their deliberations for the night on the fate of four men accused in a decades-long art theft ring that spanned the country.

Prosecutors say Nicholas Dombek, Damien Boland, and brothers Alfred and Joseph Atsus stole priceless artwork, antique guns, and sports memorabilia.

Some of which include championship rings from the Yogi Berra Museum stolen in 2014, boxing belts from the International Boxing Hall of Fame, and artwork from the Everhart Museum in Scranton.

The group is accused of melting down the stolen goods for easy resale.

The jury will begin deliberating again on Thursday at 11:00 a.m.
