West Pittston Library hosts 'Soup-er Bowl' Party

WEST PITTSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Scoring a touchdown against hunger: The West Pittston Library hosted a "Soup-er Bowl" Party collecting non-perishable food items to help tackle hunger in our area.

Supporting local food pantries in need, children in attendance had the opportunity to make different football-themed arts and crafts while learning about the Big Game.

Some children wore their favorite sports gear, while others were undecided on which team they would be rooting for.

Organizers came up with some fun ways to get future fans involved.

"We have a variety of things. We started with just a general football bingo as kind of like an icebreaker, then we made the paper footballs and a field goal. A take home packet with some things to do during the game like another bingo based on what happens during the game," said West Pittston Library Youth Services Coordinator Summer Belles.

The West Pittston Library hosts events every week for children over six.
