Sugarloaf Township Fire Chief Duane Hildebrand confirms that a man, whose name has not yet been released, was killed in the fire.
28/22 News spoke to Sugarloaf Township Police Chief Josh Winters who says firefighters had a tough time getting to the house.
"Hats off to our fire departments and all the ones that showed up. This driveway that goes down to this house is probably a mile long. It's all downhill and it's extremely icy. So, the fire crews really had to work hard to even get to this location. I know they had to bring the township plow trucks out and cinder. They had a lot of work to do to just access the property," Chief Winters explained.
A state police fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
