WILKES-BARRE TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say they arrested a juvenile for assaulting officers after they arrested a man on drug charges.
On February 12 the Wilkes-Barre Township Police stated they conducted a surveillance operation in the Hemlock Street area after multiple complaints of possible drug-related activity.
During the operation, officers said they saw Joseph Yanochko and a juvenile boy leaving a residence on Hemlock Street. Yanochko was taken into custody based on an active arrest warrant for drug-related offenses while the juvenile was told he could leave.

Police say the juvenile did not listen to officers and started to fight them. As a result, the juvenile was arrested and later put on house arrest with monitoring by Luzerne County Juvenile Probation.
Yanochko was taken to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility where he is awaiting further processing.
