WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man has been charged in relation to the "House of Horrors" case where a woman was kidnapped, tortured, and murdered.

Police say Anthony Vernet Dixon, 24, of Sugar Notch, admitted to punching Nicole Cuevas, 38, multiple times and assisted in burying her body.

‘House of Horrors’ suspects arrive for court

Dixon has been charged with aggravated assault and abuse of a corpse.

Police say they found Cuevas' body buried in the basement of the Carlisle Street home.

Desiree Linnette, Jason Race, William Wolfe, Faith Beamer, and Sarai Doyle are charged with the torture and murder of Cuevas.

Investigators say Dixon and Doyle have a child together and Dixon was periodically spending time at the Carlisle Street home at the same time Cuevas was there held against her will, tortured, and later killed.

Police say Dixon told police he "snapped" when he was told Cuevas allegedly had inappropriate contact with a child, which caused him to punch her ribs multiple times.

Investigators say other than the assault and assisting in the burial, there is no indication Dixon took place in the daily torture of Cuevas.

According to police, there were numerous injuries to Cuevas documented in her autopsy including multiple rib fractures.

The owner of that Carlisle Street home, Debra Fox, 69, was found dead behind a hotel along the Cross Valley Expressway. Police are still investigating her death.
