WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A house is heavily damaged after a fire in Luzerne County late Wednesday afternoon.
According to Wilkes-Barre City Fire Chief Jay Delaney, multiple departments were dispatched for a fire that broke out around 3:15 p.m. in the 200 block of Conyngham Avenue near Jenks Lane in Wilkes-Barre.
Crews say the fire started in the back of the home and quickly spread.
Chief Delaney says no one was injured in the fire.

The cold weather also played a role in fighting the flames as the area surrounding it became slick with ice.
Chief Delaney says the American Red Cross is working to help the victims who are affected by the fire.
