WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Three Wilkes-Barre Department of Public Works (DPW) employees are being recognized for a good deed.
Mayor George Brown honored Jason Cingoloni, Francisco Amagan Sosa, and Joe Filipini.

The three were picking up garbage January 31 when they saw a 7-year-old girl standing alone in the rain with a broken umbrella.
She was waiting for more than an hour for a school bus, not knowing school was delayed.
They immediately assisted her, kept her dry, and called 911 before she was reunited with her family.
The men say they knew they had to do something to help.
"In the moment, it just came to me to say: is there anything I could help you out with? Umbrella? I thought of {an umbrella] Just at that moment but she just broke out and said my mom is not here," explained Francisco Amagan Sosa, DPW employee, City of Wilkes-Barre.
Mayor Brown says he hopes to give out more awards like these in the future.
