SAINT CLAIR, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) say two people are in custody while two others are still on the run after an officer-involved shooting and chase that spanned two counties.
In a release, PSP says at about 12:40 p.m., a driver traveling north on Interstate 81 near mile marker 57.1 in Silver Spring Township, Cumberland County, saw a passenger in a red Toyota Tundra pointing a gun at other drivers.
The red pickup truck was found on Interstate 81 near mile marker 78 in West Hanover Township, Dauphin County. A traffic stop was initiated where the truck's driver initially stopped on the shoulder, but fled shortly afterward, troopers said.
Fleeing off Interstate 81 to a location at the 7000 block of Manor Drive in West Hanover Township, Dauphin County, an occupant in the vehicle fired multiple shots from a pistol at the state police, striking one patrol car, troopers explained.
