Three suspects arrested after armed robbery

SUNBURY, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Three suspects were arrested after an armed robbery in central Pennsylvania Tuesday afternoon.

Northumberland County District Attorney Mike O'Donnell says this started when police were dispatched to a house in the 500 block of Susquehanna Avenue for a reported armed robbery.

The Sunbury Police Department was called to the scene around 12:00 p.m. When they arrived, police found two individuals running from the back of the house.

District Attorney O'Donnell says one of the individuals had what appeared to be money coming from his pockets.

The two suspects were then taken into custody and police were told that a third suspect was still in a house in the 500 block of Susquehanna Avenue.

"At that point in time, there was a residence that we believed there were other individuals in. The residence was secured, we made contact with the individuals inside the residence, we were able to take two individuals into custody, and so there is no threat to the public at this time," District Attorney O'Donnell.
