Man accused of nearly hitting child during police chase

LYCOMING, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police stated a man led officers on a high-speed chase and nearly hit a child during it.

On February 26, the Lycoming Regional Police Department witnessed a driver, later identified as Eric Horak, traveling in the 2500 block of Bottle Run Road at high speed, leaving the roadway and almost striking a guide rail.

Officers began following Horak to conduct a traffic stop when a man with a child flagged them down. The man told officers that he had to grab his granddaughter and move out of the way to avoid being hit by Horak, police stated.
