New information in officer-involved shooting

(WBRE/WYOU) — We are learning more about an officer-involved shooting and high-speed police chase that ended in Schuylkill County last weekend.

State Police say four suspects are now in custody.

The drama began to unfold in Cumberland County when State Police say the suspects allegedly pointed a gun at motorists on I-81. That eventually led to shots being fired at State Troopers.

The pursuit ended in St. Clair.

New details are emerging in the investigation into officer involved shooting and high speed pursuit that ended in Schuylkill County over the weekend.

The drama unfolded Sunday in St. Clair near a shopping area.

As we reported Thursday, state police say all four suspects are now in custody.

This all began several hours earlier on Interstate 81 in Cumberland County when troopers say at least one of the four suspects in a red pick up truck pointed a gun at a car.

The woman driving that car, with her two young children inside, called 911. A state trooper pulled the truck over, but the driver of their truck took off.

A pursuit began, reaching speeds of more than 100 miles per hour. At some point, shots were fired at the state police cruiser from the suspect's vehicle. The cruisers was hit by the bullets.

A massive and intense search took place at the Coal Creek plaza in St. Clair. Two of the suspects got away, Christian Guerrero and Jeremiah Begley., seen here on Walmart security video. They were arrested by U.S Marshals Thursday in Connecticut.

Two other suspects were arrested in St. Clair, one of those suspects ran into Vito's Coal Fired Pizza. Alex Gambino, the manager of the restaurant saw it all take place.

"Well he came inside the restaurant. He said he had an anxiety problem, he wanted to sit down in a separate room. So we have a room on the other side, but after a couple minutes the kid that came in, the next thing we know we had cops inside the restaurant," recalled Gambino.

The intense event has people in Schuylkill County talking.

"I really think it's pure evil to me. I don't know how people could do that, especially the younger generation. It's kind of shocking," voiced Rudy Gherghel, Orwigsburg.

The suspects have been identified as 17-year-old Jeremiah Begley and Christian Guerrero, who is also believed to be in his late teens. 18-year-old Kadence Gooch and a 17-year-old identified only as B-T-W. At least two of the suspects are from Tennessee. The investigation is ongoing.
