WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — First responders dealing with serious health issues are getting help from the community.
Hundreds knocked down pins on Sunday at Chackos Family Bowling Center in Wilkes-Barre at the Third Annual Rock 'n' Radio Bowl.
The fundraising event is hosted by Cumulus Media, which owns hundreds of radio stations, including WMGS Magic 93 and WBHT HOT 97.1.
Part of the proceeds benefit Foundation 58, a Hazleton-based charity that helps firefighters, police, and emergency medical personnel affected by cancer.

"Our first responders do so much for the community at all times so to have them, to have the opportunity to say thank you in a way that's not just thank you with words and to do something that shows financially maybe to help those that need it it tugs the heartstrings I think," said Cumulus Media Promotions Director Kara Hart.
"It's heartfelt. It's heartfelt to see people come out and support and benefit things like this and give back, and to charity. It's all love," Retired Chief Paramedic with the Wilkes-Barre Fire Department Michael Stadulis explained.
Organizers expected to raise a couple thousand dollars at Sunday's bowling fundraiser in the Diamond City.
