Arrest made in TGI Friday’s shooting

LOYALSOCK TWP., LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Investigators have arrested and charged a teenager who they say was involved in a shooting outside of TGI Friday’s.

17-year-old Ja’hsir Kahseem Legare, the accused gunman in a deadly shooting outside of TGI Friday's in Lycoming County in March 2024, was arraigned in court Wednesday afternoon.

State police report Legare was arrested in Milton, Northumberland County on March 5.

District Attorney Thomas Marino states Legare will be charged as an adult on the following:

Criminal homicide

Aggravated assault

Carrying a firearm without a license

Possession of a firearm without a license

Possession of an instrument of crime

Possession of a weapon

Recklessly endangering another person,

Criminal mischief

Criminal use of a communication facility

Deadly fire causes building destroyed

On March 2, 2024, state police were called to East Third Street in Loyalsock Township in the parking lot of TGI Friday's. Police say 15-year-old Ahmeen Palmer of Williamsport was shot and later died on his way to the hospital.

State Police have also charged Legare's mother, Johneice Legare, 37, of Williamsport, who was arrested on hindering apprehension charges for allegedly taking Legare to Philadelphia after the shooting took place.

District Attorney Marino tells 28/22 News that after almost a year, investigators did a great job at tracking Legare down and making the arrest after following up on several tips.
