LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Work planned on a heavily traveled bridge that connects two Luzerne County communities is expected to cause traffic delays starting on Monday.
The Pittston City Police Department posted a traffic advisory on Thursday, alerting drivers about construction plans for the Specialist Dale J. Kridlo Memorial Bridge that connects West Pittston to Pittston City.

The span connects Wyoming Avenue (Route 11) on the west side of the Susquehanna River to North Main Street on the east side.
Work is slated to begin March 17 and continue through April 1 from 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Police say they are expecting increased traffic and congestion in the area due to lane restrictions.
A PennDOT spokesperson said the work is part of a bridge preservation project and crews will mostly be doing concrete work.
Police suggest using an alternate route if possible.
