PLAINS TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Creating a safe, inviting, and innovative kitchen space, the goal of an event bringing the community together this evening to support the local blind association.
Guests enjoyed light refreshments, live music, and basket raffles, all while supporting a great cause.
Attendees had several ways to donate, whether by purchasing kitchen items from the organization's amazon wish list or donating directly through their website.
The evening concluded with a big announcement.
Wren kitchens revealed they'll be partnering with the association to help build a brand-new kitchen, a huge step forward in enhancing their programs and services.
"To have this big of a project happen for us is incredible, and we're so grateful for the kitchen aids for choosing us and making this happen," said Amy Feldman, President and CEO, Northeast Sight Services.
"The people who are either blind or have vision loss, they teach them teach living skills and also they use a kitchen and their kitchen is outdated and they need a more modern kitchen facility and help the clients find their way around the kitchen," explained Yesenia Cosme, Kitchen Aide, Leadership Northeast.
The three hour event helped raise over five thousand dollars.
The project is set to wrap up at the end of next month.
