OLYPHANT, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A local martial arts school is taking the fight against cancer onto the mat. Dozens of women gathered on Sunday at Gracie NEPA in Olyphant.
They took part in what is called "Choke Out Cancer."
The demonstration of women's self-defense techniques doubled as a fundraiser.
Money raised will support Ali Roseman or Archbald, a member of Gracie Nepa who was recently diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer.

"I don't always have great days, but, like, I had something to look forward to coming here and then seeing my friends. I love seeing my friends, seeing my coaches, and then seeing strangers; it's just, like, it gives me something to look forward to. It makes me happy," Beneficiary Ali Roseman explained.
"We really wanted to support her in this journey that she is facing and wanted her to know that she is not fighting alone," said Gracie NEPA Coach Kristen Cunard.
Organizers say 100% of the funds raised will help Roseman with her medical expenses and the resources she needs.
