SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Scranton Police Department is investigating a death after a man fell 30 feet while walking near Nay Aug Park.
Lackawanna County Coroner Timothy Rowland said a 23-year-old man from Northhampton County died on Sunday after he fell off a 30-foot rock face directly to the rear of the Nay Aug Park Green House Project.
Rowland explained that the man fell onto the railroad below, bordering the Roaring Brook.
15 injured after bus crash
Authorities say the victim was lost in the area and was communicating with a friend when he fell. The victim was located and officials say he died from traumatic injuries from the fall.
The investigation is ongoing.
