WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police responded to a crash Monday night that they are now labeling as an aggravated assault by motor vehicle.
Police say around 8:00 p.m. on March 17 they responded to a fight in progress on Barney Street. When police arrived, there were two victims who sustained injuries from being hit by a car.
Police respond to Wilkes-Barre crash
Police say there was a confrontation between the victims, ages 17 and 20, and the occupants of a white Ford.
According to police, that confrontation led to the people in the Ford getting back in their car and striking the two victims.
Police say both victims were transported to the hospital for treatment and the investigation is ongoing.
