Wilkes-Barre police searching for suspect after robbery

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police are searching for the suspect after an armed robbery in Wilkes-Barre Monday night.

On Monday, March 17, at about 10:45 p.m. the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department was called to a Hazle Street business for a reported robbery.

The victim told police the suspect, described to be standing at six feet one inch, entered the business and approached the counter while showing a firearm.

Borough maintenance garage damaged after fire

Police were told the suspect then ordered the victim to put all of the money from the cash register into a bag as well as the victim's cell phone, which was on the counter.

The suspect then took the bag from the victim and fled the scene, according to police.

The Wilkes-Barre City Police Department says the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
