Man charged with firing multiple shots from home

UNION TOWNSHIP, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man has been charged after police say there were multiple shots fired from a home in Schuylkill County.

Around 10:30 a.m. on March 13, police responded to the 500 block of Pattersonville Road in Union Township for a report of a disturbance.

While in route, troopers say a witness told them Paul Kline, 62, Ringtown, fired multiple shots from the porch of the home and also fired the gun once inside the residence.

When troopers arrived they found Kline inside a vehicle where he ignored their commands and blocked the driveway with a tractor, according to court documents. Troopers say Kline eventually complied and was taken into custody.

According to police, the witness told them Kline mentioned something about a cat with chicken feathers in its mouth, and then eight shots were fired.

While on scene, investigators say they learned of potential explosive devices inside the garage and the Pennsylvania State Police Hazardous Device Explosive Section Unit was called in. Troopers say they seized one cardboard tube with a green hobby fuse protruding from the end that contained suspected energetic powder, along with one metal canister containing suspected energetic powder and a green hobby fuse protruding one end.

Kline has been charged with unlawful possession or manufacturing of weapons of mass destruction, discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure, and reckless endangering another person.
