LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU)— Police charged a former Dallas Borough police officer after he allegedly stole ammunition from a police station.
According to criminal documents, 39-year-old Corey Sidorek is being charged with theft for allegedly taking ammo from the Dallas Borough Police Department where he was employed for over four years.

Officials say Sidorek was leaving for a new job opportunity Friday January 17, but was coming in the next day to clean out his locker.
He was still scheduled to be on staff until March 3 due to leave accrual though, according to the criminal complaint.
Criminal documents state that shortly after, it was discovered that case of 9mm practice ammunition was missing.
Authorities state that Sidorek was seen taking the ammunition on a camera of a patrol vehicle on Saturday after it was left on following a DUI arrest earlier that morning.
Sidorek's preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 29.
