Coffee shop offers 'robbery special' after burglary

WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A person was caught on camera burglarizing a popular coffee shop in downtown Wilkes-Barre Tuesday.

The owners of Abide Coffeehouse say someone broke into the shop around 1:45 a.m.

The person got away with some cash and damaged parts of the shop. The owners say they are thankful no one was hurt.

In the security video, you can see a person wearing jeans, a dark hooded jacket, and a mask wandering through the shop opening cabinets and doors before exiting the building.

Management at Abide recognized the strong community support they've seen in the Diamond City and decided to run a "Robbery Special". In an effort to turn "a bad moment in to something lighter," the shop is offering customers a discounted rate on Tuesday and Wednesday.

You can see the full post and the special by visiting Abide Coffeehouse's Facebook page.
