KINGSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Wyoming Valley West Dana Street School has a fun way for students to learn some math.
The school hosted a Math Adventure in Candyland for students and parents
The federal credit union Citymark is partnering with the school for activities on earning, investing, and budgeting.
Giving the gift of reading to pre-K students
The students have been working on budgeting and saving for Wednesday's big event
"We are so excited, our children are able to earn money just by doing their job, and in 26 days, here we are with wonderful attendance, children are cashing their paychecks and having a fabulous time," Math teacher Beverly Thomas explained.
This is a good head start. Beginning September 2026, the commonwealth will require all public schools to implement the new financial literacy standards.
