KINGSTON TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — It's a good day to try and hook children into taking up fishing as an outdoor pastime.
Girls and boys cast a line on Saturday at Frances Slocum State Park for Mentored Youth Trout Day in Pennsylvania.
Observing National Vietnam Veterans Day in Luzerne County
Adults accompanied children for the free fishing day. It gave kids an opportunity to test their fishing skills before Trout Season begins statewide next weekend.
The fishing began at 8:00 a.m. and continues until 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
This marks the 13th year for Mentored Youth Trout Day in the Keystone State.
