Multi-county police chase with stolen car ends in arrest

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The driver of a stolen vehicle is facing charges after police say he led them on a multi-county chase.

On Sunday, March 30, around midnight, state police said they were informed that a woman claimed 25-year-old Brandon Fox of Scranton stole her car and was driving it somewhere in Wayne County.

Police stated that while troopers were driving to the victim's location, a vehicle that matched the description of the stolen car passed them on Route 402 at a high speed.

State police from the Blooming Grove and Honesdale barracks tried to pull over Fox on Interstate 84, but he continued to flee at a high speed. A chase began, and Fox allegedly led police through Interstates 84, 380, and 81.

Fox exited I-81 in Scranton, where police were able to stop him along Swetland Street by using a pit maneuver. Fox got out of the stolen car, ran on foot, leading to police chasing him and eventually arresting him.

Investigators learned Fox had multiple warrants out for his arrest on charges including assault.
